  • Olive Classic Festival

    By the instructions and recommendations of the governing authorities the event has been canceled! For the third time in a row, the Olive gardens of Lun become the unique setting for the Olive Classic Festival. There are five concerts offered by around 20 Croatian and European artists. Mediterranean flair, breathtaking sea views and a selection of the most beautiful classical tunes make this festival an unforgettable experience for the senses.

  • Traditional donkey races

    Every town has its festival. Likewise each festival has something specific, making each of our towns special. For the people of Tribunj and their guests, it is the Donkey race, a source of allround laughter and merriment and an event which attracts many people to Tribunj on the first day of the month of August. Seemingly an easy task, all you need to do is get your donkey to reach the finishing line first. However, you first have to get it moving, a task often impossible to achieve, which turns every ride into a hilarious event.

  • Taste the Mediterranean

    From 7 to 11 of October 2020, Split hosts the 7th International Festival Taste the Mediterranean. This unique gourmet and cultural event aims to promote the Mediterranean Diet – the food, culture, traditions, products and lifestyle developed along the coasts of the magic Mediterranean Sea. The Festival’s programme includes a “Mediterranean Square”, with cooking shows, cooking classes, wine tastings, workshops, master classes led by famous international chefs, panel discussions, dinners, parties, exhibitions, music and much more.   • Membrain Festival

    Martinska, the magic location on the site of an old campsite on Šibenik's canal, is this year's new home of Membrain Festival - the biggest Bass Music gathering in Dalmatia. The four day festival spreads across three stages and will host 80 DJs from Europe, Croatia, the US, Japan, and rest of the World, bringing the freshest underground sound of Drum&Bass, Dubstep, Grime, Dub, Gobal/Tropical, Bass and many other sub-genres uniting lovers of bass music, in a friendly and educating surrounding rich in culture. The programme involves a day stage, camping, nights full of music... there really are many things you can only experience at this year's Membrain festival.

  • Summer at St. Michael's Fortress

    The oldest fortress in Šibenik begins its summer music story with a one-day festival Let's Rock!, gathering eleven bands from the Croatian alternative music scene on several stages inside and outside the walls of the fortress.The fortress' open air stage will host renowned Croatian musicians and performers during the summer months, in performances during the magnificent sunsets or under a clear starry sky.

  • Opatija - Imperial city

    By the instructions and recommendations of the governing authorities the event has been canceled! The thousands of visitors to this annual event will have the opportunity to meet famous historical figures such as the Lumière brothers or Albert Einstein, enjoy the numerous music and dance programmes, and choose from the variety of food and drinks on offer in the bars and restaurants along the town's main street, which will be closed to traffic. On 25th July, Opatija will once again become the Imperial Town, which will bring to life the romantic period from the early 20th century when it was visited by members of royal families and famous figures of the time. The main street, which will be closed to traffic from the turning for the harbour up to Slatina, will be the stage for a promenade with famous figures such as the scientist Albert Einstein, writer James Joyce, violinist Jan Kubelik, composer[…]

  • Šibenik dance festival

    This event has been make real thanks to the long-time collaboration of the Sjena Dance Association from Šibenik, the Kelkope professional dance ensemble from Zagreb, which is also the main organizer. The Šibenik Dance Festival is the only one in this part of Europe that offers excellent dance education for young dancers, relaxation and a full evening’s show programme for all dance lovers, for Šibenik citizens as well as for its numerous guests.

  • Sailor Sweet & Salt Music Festival

    In addition to holding a concert, Damir Martinović Mrle's piece "Sound Carburettor" will be premiered. Experience the activation of a unique pump and witness the creation of a new musical form.

  • Šokolijada

    The tradition of šokol - a dish prepared with dry-cured pork neck in the region of Nin, reaches back to the 17th century. To this day, the tradition is going strong, so much so in fact, that each family is said to have its own recipe for this tasty dish, and it is this variety that has given the rise to the organization of this delectable manifestation. Preparations for the competition begin in January with the treatment of meat. The competition is accompanied by a hot atmosphere resembling that of the biggest sporting events, culminating with the presentation of the Šokol-maker of the Year award and tasting of the food prepared. Strictly guarded from the outside world, the Šokol Fiesta is a unique opportunity to try this autochthonous dish.

  • Alka of Sinj

    The Sinjska alka is an equestrian competition which has been held every first Sunday in the month of August in town of Sinj, Croatia since 1715,commemorating the victory over Ottoman Turks. It consists of an equestrian competition, in which various horsemen attempt to aim their lances at a hanging metal ring (alka) at full gallop. In 2010 it has been inscribed in UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Alka is also the name of the object used in the tournament, made of two concentric ring. The contestant-„alkar“- rides his horse down the race track and tries to hit the central ring with his spear in full gallop. Depending on which part of the alka he hits,receives points from 1 to 3,and no points if he misses. Only men born in Sinjska krajina can take part in the Alka.   • Boat Marathon

    In the past, the traditional Neretva boat played a key traffic-economic role for people of the region. For centuries it has been the main means of transportation, and each year, an amateur race of these boats takes place. Participants race with boats down the Neretva River, from Metkovic, starting from the town bridge, all the way down to Ploče 22.5 kilometers away. There are about 40 teams and seven hundred rowers participating in the race and giving the best of themselves. But, although it is a matter of prestige, victory in this race is not the most important. The main factors are the courage and the desire to uphold the tradition, to remember the lives and efforts of our ancestors.

  • RetrOpatija

    By the instructions and recommendations of the governing authorities the event has been canceled! RetrOpatija is a musical time machine in which swing, rockabilly, rock, jazz and electric disco music merge together to create a fantastic party dedicated to the key decades and musical styles of the twentieth century. This retro festival brings together excellent Croatian and foreign musicians, pin-up models, dancers, jugglers, street musicians, makeup artists and hair stylists, and presents vintage cars and motorcycles, such as Vespas, Tomos and Fiats. Dance at the hot ‘party of the century’ beneath a large disco ball together with thousands of other visitors.

  • Seasplash Festival

    Seasplash Festival is taking a trip down to the south, to beautiful Dalmatia, more precisely to Martinska pier. Situated directly across the sea from the historic City of Šibenik, on the unique Srim Peninsula and at the entrance of the Port of Šibenik, Martinska will open a new chapter in the festival's history. From 16th until 19th July Seasplash will be the perfect place to enjoy reggae, dub, drum and bass, jungle, ska and punk, at the Adriatic sea, and in the sun.   • Tugging of Mrduja

    What si Mrduja and why do we pull it? Mrduja is an islet, stationed halfway between the islands of Brač and Šolta, valiantly guarding the Strait of Split. Once a year, these couple of hundred square meters of rock covered whit macchia shrub and cypress trees and adorned with a fort, Renaissance-Baroque church and a lighthouse, become the object of intense dispute between the inhabitants of Brač and Šolta, especially those from Milna and Stomorska. On this day, the people of Milna and Stomorska, literally tie their boats to each side of Mrduja and start tugging. In this satirical tug of war they each try to pull the little island to their respective side and claim it as their territory.   • Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag

    By the instructions and recommendations of the governing authorities the event has been canceled! Umag is preparing for another serve of world-class tennis, great fun, and exquisite gourmet food. For 30 years, this tournament has drawn more than 100,000 visitors, local and international media, and continuously improved its programme. The tournament has hosted the biggest international tennis names and all top Croatian players – Goran Ivanišević, Goran Prpić, Ivan Ljubičić, Marin Ćilić, Ivan Dodig, and Borna Ćorić. The final list of this year's competitors will be published in mid-June, and matches will be held in Umag at Goran Ivanišević ATP Stadium from 17 to 26 July. The event is held in peak season with numerous side events such as Umag Party Nights and the Istria Gourmet Festival.

  • Jerry Ricks Blues Festival

    The Jerry Ricks Blues Festival was created by joining two renowned festivals: the Kastav Blues Festival and the B&D – Opatija Riviera Blues Festival, which over the last ten years have significantly contributed to the cultural and tourist offer of Kastav and the Opatija Riviera. The festival was named in memory of the great blues musician Jerry Ricks, who lived for a short period in Kastav and is also buried there. The festival takes place from 24 July until 1 August at ten different locations on the Opatija Riviera and in Kastav, and includes performances by renowned musicians from the USA, Japan and neighbouring countries. Starting on 24 July, concerts will take place in Mošćenička Draga, Mošćenice, Lovran, Klana, Matulji, while Kastav will host the last two days of the Jerry Ricks Blues Festival.
